The Warped Nicotina was launched in 2022 and is a Nicaraguan puro. Nicotina is a reincarnation of an old Cuban brand from the late 1800s.

It uses all Aganorsa Leaf tobacco. In detail, a Corojo 99 wrapper over a Criollo 98 binder, and Corojo 99 and Criollo 98 filler tobaccos. So far, the new line comes in a single 52 x 140 mm (5 1/2″) box-pressed Belicoso size and is sold in 20-count boxes. Like many of Warped’s other lines, the Nicotina is produced at the Aganordsa Leaf factory in Esteli, Nicaragua.

The cigars are dressed in a Colorado-colored wrapper that is smooth to the touch. There are a few minor veins perceptible. The construction and draw are good.

Warped Nicotina

Warped Nicotina: very clean aromas of tobacco and vegetal notes. Once lit, the cigar opens with vegetal notes, black pepper, and nuts.

Warped Nicotina

The first third continues with a mix of vegetal notes, black pepper, and nuts (mainly hazelnut). A woody sensation appears as well, and the smoke is slightly creamy. The strength is medium (3/5)-

In the second third, a leather note joins the flavor profile of black pepper, hazelnut, wood, and vegetal notes—the faint creaminess as disappeared. The strength grows to a medium-full body (4/5).

The flavor profile remains unchanged in the last third. Further in the third, a metallic sensation appears. The strength level remains medium-full (4/5).

Overall, the Warped Nicotina is a flavorful and strong smoke, almost a bit too strong for its own good. The flavor profile can keep up with the strength for most of the smoke, but in the last third, it becomes unbalanced, and the strength overpowers most of the flavors.
