Undercrown ShadyXX

Undercrown ShadyXX 1600 900 Michel Arlia

The Undercrown ShadyXX, from Drew Estate, celebrates the  20 years of Shady Records. Shady Records was founded by Eminem and Paul Rosenberg, an avid cigar smoker. The size is identical to the Undercrown ShadyXV (created for the 15th anniversary of the Shady label), a box pressed Belicoso.

The wrapper is of a oily Maduro shade, that is smooth to the touch. Filling is generous and even.

Undercrown ShadyXX: the cold draw is spicy. Once lit, the cigar opens with notes of with earth and pepper.

Further into the first third, the earth is the dominante flavor, followed by wood and pepper. Strength is already a solid medium (3/5).

Earth continues to be the main flavor, with the pepper and wood right behind it. There is also a light sweetness present from time to time. Strength stays on the medium level.

There isn’t much else going on in the last third, which goes for both the flavor profile and the strength.

Overall, the Undercrown ShadyXX has one main drawback and that is the limited flavor profile. While the flavors that are present are well balanced and pronounced, a change of pace would have made it a more captivating smoke.
