Early this week, Tatuaje Cigar announced the addition of three new sizes for the L’Atelier Selection Spéciale line. The cigars will probably be launched later this fall and are inspired by the original LAT size:

  • L’Atelier LAT52 Selection Spéciale: 52 x 121 mm (4 3/4″)
  • L’Atelier LAT54 Selection Spéciale: 54 x 143 mm (5 5/8″)
  • L’Atelier LAT56 Selection Spéciale: 56 x 165 mm (6 1/2″)

Compared to the regular line, the Selection Spécial uses a higher priming of the Sancti Spiritus wrapper, grown in Ecuador, over Nicaraguan binder and filler.

Together with this news, Tatuaje Cigars also informed stores that it would stop production on certain L’Atelier cigars. This affects the entire L’ Atelier Identité and Maduro lines,  the L’Aelier Selection Spéciale 38 and Torpedo, the LAT Lancero and three sizes of the La Mission de L’Atelier (1955, 1982, 2003).

This doesn’t mean that they are never being produced again and Pete Johnson mentioned that the cigars could return. For now, the cigars will be sold until the existing inventory has been used up.
