Romeo y Julieta Cazadores

Romeo y Julieta Cazadores 1600 900 Giuseppe Mitolo

Romeo y Julieta Cazadores boasts origins dating back well before the Castro revolution. It is a product that almost seems to have ended up by chance in the brand, which has always been associated with cigars that are not particularly strong and impetuous. The opposite applies to the Cazadores, which has always boasted a reputation as an outsider compared to the brand. The vitola de Galera, Cazadores, is shared only with one other Cuban product, the Fonseca No. 1.

It is offered in 25 count boxes, bundled in aluminum foil, a feature designed to provide the product a longer aging margin in the medium-long term.

Usually, the cigar comes dressed in a Colorado shaded wrapper, which varies to Colorado-Maduro, with reddish reflections. To the touch, it is silky, with only some tiny veins present. The construction is excellent, as is the filling.

Romeo y Julieta Cazadores

Romeo y Julieta Cazadores: unlit, well-defined aromas of spices and earth are perceived, enriched by nutty nuances.

Romeo y Julieta Cazadores

The opening is quite immediate, with a sapid smoke, with a hint of sweetness. Flavor-wise, very intense notes of black pepper are perceived, followed by less marked woody aromas and a nuance reminiscent of goudron. Strength is medium-full (4/5).

In the central section, the initial sapidity does not change, while the evolution brings very unmistakable aromas of earth and black pepper, followed by less intense mineral and coffee notes. The strength becomes full (5/5).

In the last third, the slight sweetness gives way to a subtle bitterness that does not unbalance the smoke. The earth remains in the foreground, with less evident cocoa notes and mineral and balsamic nuances at the end. Strength remains full (5/5).

In conclusion, the Romeo y Julieta Cazadores does not disappoint the expectations of being a rustic and strong cigar. However, the strength does not overshadow the vibrant aromas and alternate lively throughout the smoke. The cigar is even better after a couple of years of rest.
