Aesthetically, it is rolled in a smooth and oily wrapper, of a Colorado Maduro shade. The construction shows no gaps.
Rocky Patel Grand Reserve Robusto: the cold draw reveals hints of earth and barnyard. The opening is earthy.
The first third alternates aromas of earth and wood resin. There are also peppery nuances present. Strength is medium – full (4/5).
In the second third, it continues with earthy notes, always supported by spices, which now become more pronounced and culminate in hot spices. The base becomes vegetal and also slightly bitter. Strength remains constant (4/5).
In the final third, a note of nutmeg appears, together with herbs. There is also a note of almonds. Strength does not change (4/5).
Overall, the Rocky Patel Grand Reserve Robusto is a structured cigar with a good flavor intensity to it. However, the balance is not the best, due to a suave bitter taste, that appears halfway through the smoke.
