The 2021 Puro Sabor International Tobacco Festival has already had an online attendance of over 3,500 visitors. This can be considered a Puro Sabor attendance record since the celebration of the ninth edition of the festival has managed to gather more “visitors” than in all previous Puro Sabor festivals combined. From the press release, Claudio Sgroi, president of the Nicaraguan Chamber of Tobacco (CNT) and master blender, said: “We are here to give you one of the best experiences cigar industry with the legends of the legends we have in Nicaragua. We are opening the doors of our factories, our plantations in this new format, and we are excited to see that Premium cigar lovers from all over the world are joining Puro Sabor.” This adaptation to the virtual format has made it possible to reach more people from all over the world. Sgroi was in charge of inaugurating this edition of the festival in March 2021, with the support of Light ’em Up World (a digital platform headquartered in Europe and a leader in the cigar industry).
As with all Puro Sabor festivals, some of the Nicaraguan Cigar industry leaders have participated. Some of the names so far are: Juan Ignacio Martinez from Joya de Nicaragua Cigars; Nestor Andres Plasencia of Plasencia Cigars; Nicholas Perdomo III of Perdomo Cigars; Willy Herrera of Drew State Cigars; Skip Martin from RoMa Craft Tobac; and Karem Berger from Don Kiki Cigars.
