The Padron Family Reserve 45 Years Natural is a Nicaraguan cigar, and the blend used is made by 100% Nicaraguan leaves. The name of this cigar recalls and honor the foundation of Padron cigars, back to 1964. This means that this cigar was introduced to the market in 2009, 45 years later the date of the brand foundation. For the Family Reserve, the tobaccos are aged between 8 and 10 years. This cigar comes in Natural and Maduro and is packed in 10-count boxes.
The cigars are box-presses, as it happens for almost all the Padron cigars, except for the Damaso line. They are dressed up in a colorado wrapped, smooth to the touch. Filling is homogeneous.Â

Padron Family Reserve 45 Years Natural: earth and black pepper are perceivable to the cold draw. The first few puffs deliver smoky notes, with hints of wood.
The first section of the cigar is all about nuts, enriched by earth and black pepper, the latter mainly perceivable in the aftertaste. The smoke is very creamy. Strength is medium to full (4/5).
The middle section is where the cigar changes gear. There is an explosion of spices, with rich notes of black pepper, together with hints of cinnamon. The earth is still present, accompanied by undergrowth and mushrooms. There is also a touch of wood. Strength increases (4.5/5).
The final section alternates earthy notes, together with black pepper and nuts. Strength doesn’t change (4.5/5) and the ending is well-balanced.
Overall, the Padron Family Reserve 45 Years Natural develops a rich and balanced smoke. Compared to other Padron cigars, this is more on the refined side rather than a full-bodied smoke. That said, the cigar is intense and satisfying with a strength always under control, from the first to the last puff.
