Padilla Criollo 98 Robusto 1600 900 Luca Cominelli

The Padilla Criollo 98 Robusto is made in Honduras, at the Raices Cubanas factory, located in Danlì. The name of the line is not chosen at random and refers to the wrapper leaf used to dress these cigars, which is, precisely, a Ciorllo 98 variety, grown in Honduras.

Sembra un sigaro particolarmente fresco. La paletta aromatica è limitata e poco delineata. Risulta però discretamente equilibrato. Fumato fino all’inizio del PT.

The cigar is rolled in a wrapper that is slightly rustic to the touch. In some samples we noticed slight chromatic defects.

Padilla Criollo 98 Robusto: the cold draw reveals peppery aromas. The opening outlines vegetal notes.

In the first third, the smoke is particularly fresh, with aromas of sweet tobacco and some spices (mainly black pepper). Toasted nuances are also perceptible. Strength is slightly above medium (3.5/5).

In the central section, the base becomes slightly bitter. A light spicy mix is perceptible, where cinnamon and a light pepperiness stand out. Strength remains constant (3.5/5).

The last third does not showcase any particular changes, neither in flavors, where spices are confirmed, nor in strength (3.5/5).

Overall, the Padilla Criollo 98 Robusto develops a rather limited and not particularly evolutionary flavor profile. That said, it is a fairly balanced cigar.
