Nica Oro, LLC has released the Belleau Wood Brand, a Cuban-sandwich-style bundle project. The new Florida distributor has announced its inaugural project with a release of four sizes across three popular wrappers: Connecticut Shade, Ecuadorean Habano, and Ecuadorean Maduro.
Belleau Wood, the famed WWI battle in France, is brought to life by Nica Oro as a celebratory line of bundle-type cigars. The brand is produced in Condega, Nicaragua, and blended by Indiana Ortez.
The company states, “Our cigars namesake pays homage to the Devil Dogs we remember daily by presenting an everyday cigar.” Blender of the Belleau Wood project, Indiana Ortez, mentions, “this project is very exciting for me! Learning about the history and significance of the battle really allowed me to take what is normally a regular cigar for this market segment and focus on a memorable blend using choice tobaccos, something I don’t think is given its due with these types of everyday cigars.”
The cigars come in a dynamic box of the more premium type rather than a cellophane wrap. Each box offers a perforated break where each 20-count bundle can be instantly turned into a display box for a single cigar purchase.
Belleau Wood comes in the same five sizes for Shade, Habano, and Maduro:
- Toro – 54 x 152mm (6″), $4.10 per cigar
- Robusto – 52 x 127mm (5″), $3.95 per cigar
- Presidente – 50 x 190mm (7 1/2″), Â $4.15 per cigar
- Gordo – 60 x 152mm (6″), $4.25 per cigar
Belleau Wood is expected to ship the first week of May 2023.
