Miami Cigars & Company founded in 1989, produces a cigar called the Nestor Miranda Connecticut Special Selection Coffee Break. The Special Selection line was released in 2006 as a homage to Nestor, the company’s founder. In 2012, the line expanded to include the Connecticut version. However, the entire Special Selection line was discontinued two years later, only to be relaunched in 2019, on the occasion of the company’s 30th anniversary. Currently, My Father Cigars SA in Nicaragua produces the cigars of this line.
The Connecticut Special Selection line has three formats, a Robusto, a Toro, and a Short Robusto called the Coffee Break. All formats are sold in cabinets of 20 pieces.
The cigar comes wrapped in a shiny Colorado-colored wrapper leaf. The leaf feels very smooth to the touch and has light, not very pronounced veining. The filling is generous and uniform. The draw is slightly tight, but the construction is great.

Once lit, the smoke is sweet on the palate with a slight sapid component. In the mouth, the smoke is soft and round. It expresses very strong woody and peanut components, enriched with spicy nuances. The strength is medium-light (2/5).
Once you reach the halfway point, the sapidity becomes equal to the sweetness. The powerful woody note remains unchanged, while an earthy component takes over and replaces the peanuts from the start. At times, an intriguing mineral nuance emerges. Strength increases, becoming medium (3/5).
Overall, the Nestor Miranda Special Selection Connecticut Coffee Break is a straightforward cigar that is far from mundane. Its most notable characteristic is its full-bodied flavors, which is impressive even though it has only a few aromas present. It is perfect for those who have limited time to smoke larger cigars.
