Maya Selva Cigars announced the Flor de Selva No. 15 2012-2022. It is an out-of-the-ordinary tasting experience: a single box containing ten cigars rolled more than a decade ago and ten cigars of the same kind rolled last year.
Ten years ago, Maya Selva foresaw a market for premium new world cigars and producers that would guarantee the aging process of their brands. In the spirit of this thought, she set aside thousands of cigars in various vitolas and stored them in our warehouse. Each vitola aged in its own space under carefully controlled temperature, humidity, and light conditions.
With this release, you can taste how their quality holds up over time, with this special edition featuring ten Flor de Selva No. 15 cigars rolled in 2022 and ten rolled in 2022. It is suggested to smoke both cigars at once to experience how the tobaccos have blended over time.
The cigars are easy to distinguish. The ones rolled in 2012 bear the bands with the old design, and the more recent ones have the new bands on them. Blendwise, it is a Honduran puro with a Honduran Connecticut wrapper over a binder from the Jamastrán region and Honduran fillers. The No. 15 comes in a Belicoso shape and measures 54 x 140 mm (5 1/2″)
The elegant 20-count boxes will be available exclusively in the United States and are set to arrive in stores in September. Retail price is set at $395 per box.
