La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Chisel: unlit hints of earth and cocoa. It starts out with a mix of earth and coffee on the palate.

The first third opens up with earth, notes of walnut and hot spices. After a few seconds, coffee reaches the palate as well. Strength is medium – full (4/5).

In the second third, the smoke continues with coffee, that are now joined by herbs. The earthiness returns to the spotlight, with almonds in the background. Strength increases, becoming full (5/5).

Herbs turn balsamic in the last third and they alternate with coffee and earth. Nuts are perceptible in the aftertaste. The strength, while remaining elevated, decreases slightly  in the finale (4,5/5).

Overall, it is a smoke that provides a deep and structured aromatic palette. Strength is full bodied and in some passages (in the central part) it tends to prevail over the aromatic intensity, which makes for a balance that is on the razor’s edge at time. However, all this is limited to only a few puffs. Harmony is good.
