Aesthetically, the cigars are dressed in a silky Maduro shaded wrapper. There are more than usual veins perceptible to the touch, which one would not expect from a cigar of with this type of wrapper.

La Flor de Las Antillas Maduro

La Flor de Las Antillas Maduro Toro: unlit, hints of earth and black pepper. The first puffs reveal hot spices and seasoned wood.

A mix of seasoned wood, walnut, earth and suave balsamic notes are outlined. The background is dominated by hot spices, that have a long persistence. Strength is just above medium (3.5/5).

Walnut is brought to the foreground, flanked by the earth. The base becomes slightly bitter. The flavor profile becomes more amalgamated. Strength increases to a fuller spectrum (4.5 / 5).

Walnut and earth carry over into the last third. Spices, mainly black pepper, return in the background. The base is rather bitter. Strength diminishes, reaching a medium-full body (4/5).

Overall, the La Flor de Las Antillas Maduro Toro gives off a smoke with good intensity and excellent persistence. The cigar, however, lacks in balance, especially in the second half, where bitter notes work against the flavor profile.
