Among the seven modules of the brand Josè L. Piedra we can identify a rather interesting, unique measures module: the Conserva. The vitola de galera of this cigar is itself conserva JLP and minimally differs from the conserva by Punch (145 mm x 43), the Royal Coronation.

At sight, the capa of this Conserva is quite different from the shades which are blockbusters today: a claro tone, without any light, yellowish in reflexes, spotty, rough when touched and with pronounced nervation. Global manufacturing can also be better, with a superficial closure of the head and, giving some pre-smoke concerns, with evident lacks in the filling.
Josè L. Piedra Conserva: the mild perfumes reaching the nose are walnut, wood and earth.
The beginning is based on a delicate balance between mineral, acid and bitter tastes, where the first is dominant on the other two. The aromas are limited in number: coffee, balsamic notes and hazelnut respectively, from the most to the least intense. Light bodied (1/5). Moving on into the fruition, the tastes keep going on unchanged, such as the coffee dominance. The aromas on the contrary change: near to the main coffee one honey, leather and earth, all of them with subtle intensity, arise. Strength minimally increases, becoming medium-light (2/5).
Overall both balance and aromas intensity are valuable in this Conserva. Below average, however, persistency, evolution and complexity. It is a rusty cigar, which can be enjoyed in a simple fruition.
Can be suggested after lunch, when looking for a cheap cigar, which can provide simple sensations without further needs.
