Illusione Allegria Lonsdale 1600 900 Michel Arlia

When Dion Giolito, founder of Illusione Cigars, bought the rights to the OneOff brand, the trademark of the Allegria line (also created by Andrea Molinari) was included in that purchase.

The Illusion Allegria Lonsdale is one of five sizes that make up the Allegria line. It is a Nicaraguan puro that is made at the AGANORSA factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. All sizes are sold in 25-ct boxes.

The cigars are rolled in smooth Colorado-colored wrappers, with only a few small veins present. Construction is good, with a generous filling, and the draw is just right.

Illusione Allegria Lonsdale

Illusione Allegria Lonsdale: the cold draw reveals a clean and sweet tobacco aroma. Once lit, notes of cappuccino and nuts, with a hint of spice.

Illusione Allegria Lonsdale

The cappuccino and nutty aromas, mainly hazelnut, from the opening carry over into the first third. Wood and cream flavors are added to the profile, and a hint of white pepper is present in the retro-hale. Strength is medium (3/5).

A leather note joins the profile in the second third. The smoke continues to be smooth and creamy. The strength does not change.

The last third picks up where the second left off, and the smoke remains smooth and creamy. The strength remains unchanged until the end.

Overall, the Illusion Allegria Lonsdale is a balanced and smooth smoke from start to finish. The profile is pretty complex and round, with the flavors working well together, but, for the size, it lacks in evolution, especially from the second third on, making for a relatively linear smoke.
