Considering the size, Fonseca Cosacos are, after the discontinuation of No. 1 in 2014, the most important cigars made by Fonseca brand. The format has the same name of the cigar and the dimensions are cepo 42 x 135 mm length.

Thinking it is only few millimeters longer than a Petit Corona, and that this is the Fonseca module with larger dimension, it is quickly evident the minor attention given to this brand nowadays. It has to be however noted that, since the post-revolutionary period, the manufactured formats belonging to this brand have never been many. Maximum 6 modules were commercialized.
The look of Fonseca Cosacos shows the same appeal of all the Fonsecas, being the cigar wrapped in white paper, on top of which the anilla is placed. Once “undressed”, it features a naked capa, with no extra anillas.
The wrapper is silky and shows a colorado shade. Manufacturing is not brilliant, however by touching the body of the cigar only minor defects can be identified.
Smoking notes.
Foseca Cosacos: before lighting the cigar up light earth hints can be perceived. Opening gives off piquant spices and light woody notes.
The first third develops spicy notes, on a slightly acidic basis. Spices are very evident, almost entirely covering the rustic wood, which can be perceived only in some puff, and only on remote background. Strength is slightly above average (3,5/5).
In the second segment the smoke becomes more acidic and at the same time a tannic character starts, suffocating the yet quite limited aromatic palette. Strength becomes medium-high (4/5).
The last smoking segment is really short, since the bitterness becomes bold and forces to quit the fruition.
Globally, the Cosaco gives off a non-harmonious smoke, with a major lack in balance in the second half. Even though dimensions are the most interesting ones, it is the least performant of the currently released product line.
