Don Pepin Garcia Vegas Cubanas are cigars made by Don Pepin Garcia, in Nicaragua. The blend involves the use of 100% tobacco grown in Nicaragua.

The name of the brand is a tribute to the Spanish term for tobacco fields (Vegas) in that of Cuba (Cubana). To recall the Cuban island even more, they are sold in boxes of 25 cigars, which is tradition in the birthplace of Don Pepin.

The first third develops notes of wood, grass and intense aromas of white pepper. In the background, there is also a note of bittet hazelnut present. The smoke is particularly dry. Strength is just above medium bodied (3.5/5).

In the second third, the base becomes acidulous. The cigar is no longer dry in this third and notes of bitter hazelnut, vegetal aromas are paired with earthy and black pepper hints. A light bitter vein appears at about halfway through the cigar. Strength grows, reaching a medium – full level (4/5).

There are no variations in the last third. Neither in terms of flavors, nor in terms of strength, which remains constant (4/5).

Overall, the Don Pepin Garcia Vegas Cubanas Corona gives off a rustic, fairly balanced smoke, but with not particularly balanced flavor profile. The bitterness that appears in the second half of the cigar, although not pronounced, is not particularly pleasant. On the other hand, the flavor intensity is good.
