The Diplomatico by Mombacho Petit Corona is a cigar made in the beautiful factory of Casa Favilli, in Nicaragua. The master blender behind the line is the Italian Claudio Sgroi. Diplomatico by Mombacho is a creation that was with a pairing in mind and this line was born with the intention of combining the brand’s cigars with the most famous and widespread edition of the Venezuelan Diplomático Rum, that is Il Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva.
The cigars are dressed in a reddish Colorado shaded wrapper leaf. Construction is excellent and flawless. The bands used recalls the colors of the Diplomático brand.

Diplomatico by Mombacho Petit Corona: unlit, sweet smells of tobacco and cocoa. The opening brings aromas of earth and nutmeg, with a hint of cinnamon, to the palate.
In the first third, the cigar releases aromas of earth, wood and hazelnut. In the background you can perceive a sweet spicy component of black pepper, which in some puffs becomes more intense, culminating into chili spice. Strength is medium-full (4/5).
In the second half, the flavor profile stays more or less the same. The spices, however, gradually become more accentuated and in the end they are the undisputed protagonists, together with rich earthy notes. Strength remains constant (4/5) and the finish is as balanced as it is satisfying.
Overall, the Diplomatico by Mombacho Petit Corona is an intense and satisfying cigar, with a complex flavor profile, despite the small size. A great small cigar.
