The Diamond Crown Maduro line was introduced back in 1995 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the J.C. Newman Cigar Co. The line is made at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia. in the Dominican Republic. Blend-wise, it is made up of a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over Dominican binder and fillers, which have been aged for up to 5 years.

Visually, the cigar is dressed in an oily and toothy Maduro shaded wrapper. Construction is flawless and the filling is generous.

Diamond Crown Maduro Robusto No. 4: the cold draw delivers scents of seasoned wood. The first puffs confirm the woody notes.

Overall, the Diamond Crown Maduro Robusto No. 4 delivers a balanced smoke. The flavor profile is good, and the evolution linear for the whole duration of the smoke. A little more power in the final part would have ended the smoke more satisfyingly.
