Davidoff’s Winston Churchill The Late Hour line is supposed to be the stronger brother of the regular Winston Churchill line. The black bands also underline the fact that it is supposed to be a bolder cigar.
The tobaccos used for the blend come from a multitude of different countries. One particular leaf, a Viso from Condega, was aged for six months in ex Scotch barrels.
Visually, the Colorado Maduro shaded wrapper has a decent amount of tooth and oil to it. Some light veins are present. Construction, as you would expect from a Davidoff product, is flawless.

The first third is quite sapid—notes of pepper and wood return, followed by a mix of spices and even a mineral nuance. Strength is medium-light (2/5), which is not a surprise considering the size.
Into the second third, a subtle sweetness appears. The profile turns to nutty and earthy components, while the spices and wood are still present. Strength increases slightly (2.5/5).
The flavors, compared to the second third, do not change. It remains a trio of earth, nuts, and spices. Strength reaches a medium level (3/5).
Overall, the Davidoff Winston Churchill The Late Hour Churchill is an intriguing cigar. The profile is balanced and the flavors, although not many, are complex. Strangely enough, the evolution, especially from the second to the last third, decreases the more the strength increases towards the end.
