As it has become the tradition for the last eight years, the beginning of the year brings a new Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition. This year’s release comes in a Perfecto shape, and the blend is a marriage of the two regular production Winston Churchill lines, the Original Series and the Late Hour Series.

The Perfecto-shaped cigar is dressed in a Colorado Maduro-colored wrapper, with a couple of minor veins present. Construction is perfect.

Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2022:Â the cold draw brings aromas of barnyard and hay to the palate. There is also a spicy sensation present, especially on the lips. Once lit, the cigar opens with light notes of wood and nuts.
The cigar needs a couple of minutes to get going, as is the case with all Perfecto-shaped cigars, but once it does, wood, nuts (mainly hazelnuts), and herbs. Faint pepper notes are perceptible in the retro-hale, and the strength is light (1/5).
The profile becomes spicier with black pepper as the prominent flavor in the last third, joined by herbal notes. Wood and hazelnut have moved to the background, where a citrus note is now also present. Strength is now a solid medium (3/5). Hot spices close out the smoke.
The final third confirms the aromatic profile of the cigar, as well as the strength (4/5). The ending is well balances, as the whole smoke.
Overall, the Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2022Â is an interesting cigar that starts out contained but kicks into gear from the second third on. The smoke is balanced with a well-structured flavor profile. That being said, the fact that it takes almost the entire first third for the cigar to really hit its stride leaves you wondering if the blend would have shined more in a different size.
