In mid-2021, Davidoff presented the Dominicana 2014, a limited edition that joined the other editions of the brand. In particular, the year shown on the second ring, placed on the foot of the cigar, is that relating to the tobacco harvest.

The filling consists of San Vincente Ligero, Piloto Visus, San Vincente Mejorado Visus, and Corojo 99 Seco tobaccos, all aged six years. The line consists of three sizes: Toro, Robusto, and Short Robusto. All cigars are presented in wooden 10-ct boxes.

Davidoff Dominicana 2014 Robusto 2

Davidoff Dominicana 2014 Robusto: the cold draw reveals scents of milk chocolate and spices, where black pepper and cinnamon stand out the most. The opening is spicy and vegetal.

Davidoff Dominicana 2014 Robusto 3

The first third continues with the spices: cinnamon and black pepper are confirmed. There is also a vegetal touch and some leather. Strength is a little above the medium level (3.5/5).

The second third adds seasoned wood and roasted notes of coffee beans. Strength doesn’t change (3.5/5).

In the finale third, the coffee beans now alternate to earth and a touch of black pepper. The finish is satisfying and long, the strength doesn’t change, and the cigar is well-balanced until the last puff.

Overall, the Davidoff Dominicana 2014 Robusto is a balanced cigar boasting a great structure. The evolution is well perceivable, and the finale is satisfying.
