Cuaba Distinguidos 1600 900 Giuseppe Mitolo

The Cuaba Distinguidos (vitola de Galera Romeo) was introduced to the brand’s portfolio in 2003, seven years after the brand’s launch. As with all Cuaba cigars, it is a Double Figurado which, unlike the smaller size sold in 25-count boxes, is packaged in 10-count boxes.

Cuaba Distinguidos

The cigar usually comes dressed in a Colorado wrapper, with shades varying from brown to reddish. To the touch, it is slightly rough, with veins, however not very evident. The filling is uniform, and the draw is on the tighter side. Construction is great.

Cuaba Distinguidos

Cuaba Distinguidos: the cold draw reveals well-defined aromas of wood, leather, and earth, enriched by spicy nuances.

Cuaba Distinguidos

The start is slow due to the tapered foot. However, you don’t have to wait long before the cigar presents a slightly sapid smoke. It expresses mineral and wood notes, both of good intensity, enriched by a nuance of cocoa. Strength is medium-light (2/5).

In the central section, the sapidity becomes more pronounced. The smoke itself is also quite sweet and creamy. Aromas of wood and white pepper, with cocoa always present in the background, make up the flavor profile. Strength does not change (2/5).

In the final third, the sweetness gives way to the sapidity, which does not increase in intensity. The notes of wood and white pepper remain unchanged, followed by a nutty component, mainly walnut. Strength becomes medium (3/5).

The Cuaba Distinguidos, despite its size that can “scare” the newer smokers, returns a not very complex but not banal smoke. The aromas are well defined and recognizable, and despite the evolution being contained, it is not a boring smoke, thanks to the sweetness and creaminess. The strength also manages to support the profile well without overshadowing it.
