The Cohiba Robusto Reserva is made with tobaccos coming from the 2014 harvest. The cigar was announced in 2018, but it reached the markets in the final part of 2020. The production is limited to 5.000 black lacquered boxes containing 20 cigars. This is the sixth Cohiba cigar dressed with the “Reserva” label. The first five were released in 2003 (all in a 30 count box that contained 5 Esplendidos, 5 Robustos, 5 Coronas Especiales, 5 Media Coronas, and 5 Piramides).
The Cigars are wrapped in a beautiful Colorado shaded leaf that is smooth to the touch. Filling is uniform. The cigars wear two bands, one being the classic Cohiba, the other pointing out that this is the “Reserva” edition, which means limited production and tobacco aged for at least three years. The “Reserva” line was introduced back in 2003.

Cohiba Robusto Reserva: the cold draw reveals scents of cedarwood. The first few puffs deliver notes of white pepper and cedarwood, together with a touch of earth.
Overall, the Cohiba Robusto Reserva delivers a satisfying smoke, with a rich flavor profile that boasts a nice evolution. The aromas are structured and deep, and the cigar has great aging potential. Still, it is already ready to be enjoyed, something that the new Cuban releases usually lack. Compared to the traditional Cohiba Robusto, this Reserva shows a greater strength, but the flavor profile is not as sweet as the standard production. The Robusto Reserva is a more complex version, but this comes with a price that is more than three times higher.
