Dominican Republic

Just yesterday we announced that all cigar factories in Honduras were temporarily closed, by government ordinance, following the COVID-19 health emergency. It all started after the first cases in the country.

In Dominican Republic, although there were already dozens of cases, everything seemed to proceed regularly, until some of the major producers decided to stop production for precautionary purposes. The two best known names are those of Fuente and Carrillo, although they are not the only ones. Tabacalera Palma and El Artista will also close for a period of two weeks to a month.

However, other brands are expected to join this temporary closure very soon.
