Capa Flor Habano Robusto 1600 900 Michel Arlia

The Capa Flor belongs to the family-owned company called Santa Clara. The family’s history in tobacco dates back to 1830. They updated the line’s presentation recently, and it comes in three different wrapper variations: Connecticut, Habano, and Maduro.

The wrapper is of a Colorado tonality. It has a little tooth to it, and the veins are fairly small. The overall craftsmanship is decent.

Capa Flor Habano Robusto

Capa Flor Habano Robusto: unlit, aromas of tobacco and earth can be made out. Once the cigar is lit, it opens with notes of earth and coffee.

Capa Flor Habano Robusto

A couple of puffs into the first third, the flavor profile consists of mainly earth and coffee. There is also a toasted bread aroma lingering in the background. Strength is on the lighter side of things (2/5).

In the second third, the earth and coffee remain the dominant flavors, while the toasted bread is joined by walnut. The smoke itself is slightly dry. Strength stays at medium-light (2/5).

A black pepper note appears at the beginning of the last third behind the earth and coffee combo. The profile remains unchanged, as does the strength, until the end.

Overall, the Capa Flor Habano Robusto is a decent smoke and is surprisingly lighter than expected. Nevertheless, it is quite a generic smoke, and the dryness that appears more often than one would like does not help.
