Ashton Virgin Sun Grown Spellbound: unlit, notes of cocoa. The opening reveals notes of seasoned wood and hazelnut. A very suave spiciness is also perceptible in the background.
The first third alternates cedar wood and hazelnut. There is a spicy vein of black pepper perceptible in the aftertaste. Strength is slightly above medium (3.5/5).
In the second third, wood and hazelnut are still present, enriched with notes of coffee beans. Strength remains constant (3.5/5).
In the final third, the profile remains unchanged in terms of the flavors. The intensity of the coffee bean flavor is greater, which becomes more pronounced and turns into the protagonist. Strength shows no changes and remains on the slightly above the medium level (3.5/5).
Overall, the Ashton Virgin Sun Grown Spellbound centers around an exceptional balance. The flavors never unravel, from the first to the last puff. That being said, from a cigar of this size, it is legitimate to expect something more from the evolution and flavor profile, which are both quite contained. The smoke is however very creamy and the cigar is easy to enjoy.
