The name of the Arturo Fuente OpusX Angel’s Share derives from the fire that, in 2012, destroyed a large quantity of tobacco that the Fuente family was aging since the 50s, in anticipation of the 100th anniversary of the brand. As it happens with the spirits, where part of the product evaporates from the cask during aging, the tobacco literally went up in smoke has been mystified as a sort of good omen for the angels, who have been able to appreciate the aroma of great quality tobacco.
The only difference, if compared with the traditional Opus X, is the use of a wrapper that comes from a slightly lower priming, than the one chosen for the classic line.

Arturo Fuente OpusX Angel’s Share Robusto: raw hints of hay and light peppery notes. The opening brings spicy and earthy notes to the palate.
The first third opens on a bitter/sweet base, on which aged wood, earth and peppery notes (pink pepper) are released. Strength is medium – full (4/5).
In the second third, the spicy component moves to the foreground: red pepper and hot spices alternate, followed by the omnipresent earth. Strength remains constant (4/5).
Approaching the end, the woody notes gradually become more marked, which brings them to the forefront. Strength grows (4,5/5), resulting satisfying finish.
Overall, the Arturo Fuente OpusX Angel’s Share Robusto has an ample aromatic palette. All this makes it an appreciable and enjoyable smoke. Great balance.
