Archetype Initiation Toro 1600 900 Giuseppe Mitolo

The Archetype Initiation Toro, one of the lines of the Archetype brand (owned by Ventura Cigars), is made at the Drew Estate factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. The tobaccos used to make this cigar come from a Habano-seed wrapper, grown in Ecuador, while binder and filler are all Nicaraguan tobaccos.

The cigar is wrapped in a bright Colorado wrapper with brown reflections. To the touch, it is smooth with small noticeable veins. The filling is uniform, and the overall quality is great.

Archetype Initiation Toro

Archetype Initiation Toro: unlit, a very intense cocoa scent is perceived, followed by less marked tones of coffee and earth.

Archetype Initiation Toro

Once the cigar is lit, aromas of cocoa, black pepper, and wood are present, with a spicy nuance in the background. Strength is medium-light (2/5).

In the central section, the cocoa becomes much more pronounced, while the black pepper remains unchanged. A very faint note of dried fruit appears. Strength increases, becoming medium (3/5).

In the last third, aromas of earth and walnut appear, followed by hints of wood. Strength remains unchanged (3/5).

Ultimately, the Archetype Initiation Toro returns a complex and flavorful smoke. The aromas are well defined, and the evolution is also appreciable. The strength allows the flavors to come through nicely—a more than enjoyable smoke.
