As per the other cigars of the line, two bands are present. The first one showcases, in bold characters, the name of the product, while the second one (partially hidden) is curious: it shows the 1685 date, the year when the city Esteli was founded, with the official extended version of the name of the city (Villa de San Antonio De Pavia Esteli) and the GPS coordinates (Pan American Nic 1 / 13°05′N 86°21′W).

Alec Bradley Nica Puro Robusto: before lighting the cigar up floral and chestnut honey flavors can be perceived; the first draws are reminding of hazelnut, cocoa and black pepper.

In the first third the same identified aromas are confirmed: nuts and cocoa. Moving on seasoned wood and a slightly bitter hint become evident. The background is peppery. Medium to full-bodied (4/5).

At the beginning of the second third the woody notes are resembling licorice, while cocoa and pepper are building in the background. Strength is slightly higher than medium (3,5/5).

In the last third the main aromas are replicated: wood and cocoa. Roasted coffee notes with herbal hints can be perceived in the main part of the last third. The background is still peppery. Also the strength continues on the same level (3,5/5).

Nica Puro Robusto gives off an aromatic palette with a good intensity. The evolution is not very pronounced. Balance is sometimes jeopardized, with strength overpowering the flavors. Burn is uneven, requiring corrections. Smoke is creamy, but thin, while the ash is very firm, falling only at the beginning of the last third. After-smoke persistency features good intensity, repeating the spicy herbal flavors.
