By touching up the cigar one can perceive the correct filling, and the pig tail-like head is a real gift to the smoker.
Alec Bradley Lineage Toro: before lighting the cigar up, it delivers flavors of dried figs and cocoa. In the first couple draws cocoa and slightly acidic and bitter notes are given off.
In the first third the bitter and astringent notes are still present; the cigar delivers a mix of cocoa, rhubarb, greenwood and citrus. Moving on the bitter hints are reinforced, with citrus as background. Strength is medium bodied (3/5).
In the second third the cigar becomes slightly less intense: wood is coupled with bitter and acidic notes, which were already present at the beginning, while in the background minor earthy notes can be found. Strength is still medium (3/5)
Reaching the final third, notes of licorice become evident; the acidic/bitter tone is still present, even though less intense. The finish changes into light herbal tastes, black tea and diffuse white pepper flavors. Strength is still medium bodied.
Overall, a cigar which, though complex, leaves the smoker puzzled. The main aromas are bitter, acrid, and the burn is not even; smoke volume is often minimal, and many corrections have been required. It is a dry smoke, drying out the mouth. After-smoke persistency is intense, proposing herbal notes, black tea, wood and pepper.
