Alec Bradley Lineage: before lighting the cigar up, it gives off flavors of cocoa and nuts, on an herbal background; the first draws confirm the nutty hints, and incense notes are added on top.

The first third delivers cocoa aromas, with a seasoned/young woodsy twist. Anise, with piquant hints can be perceived in the background. Light to medium bodied in strength (2,5/5).

At the beginning of the second third “green” wood becomes dominant, soon developing into a licorice note. The cocoa taste changes also into light coffee. Slightly acidic and bitter notes appear in the background, not disrupting the fruition. Strength increases to a medium level (3/5).

The beginning of the last third keeps the herbal character; soon after leathery as well as earthy notes appear. Finish is characterized by intense earthy flavors, and a pleasant spicy (black pepper) background. Body is still medium (3/5).

The Lineage 7×70 confirms our previous impressions on the line, which is suspended in a sort of “limbo”: aromatic intensity, evolution and overall quality are average. The rare perceived acidic and bitter notes, which penalizes the fruition of the Toro more, allows the 7×70 format get a better rating, which is a signs of a more balanced cigar. The burn is not requiring corrections; draw is slightly firm and the smoke (slightly dry) is limited, often forcing to double draw (even triple) with careful timing, not to let the cigar extinguish. Ash is very firm, and only falls down at the end of the smoke. After-smoke persistency is average in intensity, featuring wood, earth, pepper and balsamic notes.
