Alec Bradley Black Market Gordo: before lighting the cigar up cocoa and ripe fruit (fig) can be perceived. At the beginning of the smoke bitter cocoa and nutty flavors are confirmed, with pleasant piquant notes.
In the first third the same aromas are delivered, with a predominance of cocoa; moving on flavors change into smoky wood, light earth and white pepper notes. It is medium bodied (3/5).
Mid-way in the smoke, wood and piquant tastes are predominant. In the next part the always present notes of cocoa and white pepper are again taking over, on a sweet background. Strength is slightly decreased, reaching (2,5/5).
The last third is an explosion of sweet flavors: wood, cocoa, hazelnut, cream. From the head of the cigar oily, buttery essences are delivered, filling the entire mouth. The finish is less sweet, and refreshing herbal notes appear; the flavor palette is completed by light leather and hazelnut. Body is kept at the previous level (2,5/5).
Black Market Gordo surprises with the smoke mechanics: perfect. Once the cigar is lighted up, it does not require any correction. The amount of smoke and the burn are also supported by the generous dimensions of the cepo. The even burn is also secured by accurately spaced draws, and the cigar is also allowing a double draw when extra smoke is requested. The aroma palette is wide and intense, and it features a vivid, never boring smoke: cocoa, nuts, precious wood, earth and refined spices with piquant notes are the most represented tones. Ash is very compact. After-smoke persistency is a pleasant and a remembrance of wood, light cocoa and white pepper.
