To celebrate three decades in business, the Gurkha Treinta Robusto was launched in 2019. For the Anniversary, Gurkha turned to Aganorsa Leaf to produce their cigars.

The blend consists of an Ecuadorian Habano Rosado wrapper, over a Nicarguan Corojo 99 binder and a Nicaraguan filler mix of Corojo 99 and Criollo 98.

The cigars are dressed up in oily wrapper leaves that are smooth to the touch. The overall construction is good, and the filling is generous.

Gurkha Treinta Robusto

Gurkha Treinta Robusto: the cold draw reveals notes of wood and sweet tobacco. The opening confirms the wood aroma.

Gurkha Treinta Robusto

The first section of the smoke delivers fine wood and a touch of roasted coffee notes. The harmony is great, but the flavor profile is not among the broadest. The strength is medium (3/5).

In the second third, the cigar flavor profile is now enriched with earth and a mix of spices, made of black pepper and chili. The strength increases, reaching a medium-full level (4/5).

The final third alternates the mix of spices with leather and walnut notes. Strengths is unchanged (4/5).

Overall, the Gurkha Treinta Robusto is a cigar boasting a nice balance and a complex flavor profile. The cigar needs some time to get going because the first third is a completely different smoke compared to what follows afterwards.
