Africa has a long tradition of tobacco cultivation, but there have not been any African cigar brands around yet. This changed with the introduction of the Bongani brand.
Bongani, which means “be grateful,” is the first African cigar brand and produces Puros (cigars made only from tobacco cultivated in Africa). The cigars are rolled in their factory located in Mozambique, and they produce three sizes: 458 (Gordito), Â 658 (Toro), and Robusto.

Bongani Robusto:Â the cold draw gives off aromas of hay and wood. Once lit, peppery and woody notes are revealed.
Overall, the Bongani Robusto delivers a flavorful and intense smoke. While the profile may read as your run-of-the-mill flavors, this cigar brings an interesting twang to each of the classic flavors known to Caribbean cigars.
