Early this year, Davidoff unveiled their new campaign for 2023 called the Difference. The campaign focuses on Davidoff’s highly acclaimed White Band Collection Lines.

Davidoff re-released one of its most iconic and beloved cigars as a limited edition, the Signature No. 1 Limited Edition Collection, to kick off the occasion. Originally known as the Davidoff Classic No. 1, the Master Blenders have recreated the blend, which uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over an Ecuadorian Hybrid 151 Seco binder and Dominican fillers (Hybrid 192 Seco, Piloto Seco, and San Vicente Seco).

A total of four releases are planned, with the second one, the Millenium Lancero Limited Edition Collection, already having been released.

The cigars are dressed in a smooth Colorado Claro-colored wrapper. The construction of these Lanceros is, in true Davidoff fashion, impeccable, and the head is finished in a pigtail.

Davidoff Signature No. 1

Davidoff Signature No. 1 Limited Edition Collection: the cold draw reveals aromas of hey, and spice with a hint of sweetness. Once lit, is starts with creamy leather and nutty notes.

Davidoff Signature No. 1

The creamy leather notes carry over into the first third, joined by walnut and wood. A light spiciness is present in the retrohale with a hint of must. The strength is medium-light (2/5).

The second third continues with the flavor profile of the previous third, and a honey sweetness is added to the mix. Strength remains unchanged.

Things pick up in the last third, where the profile turns to aromas of coffee and light caramel nuances. Towards the end, the profile becomes a bit spicer, and herbal notes are added. The strength grows to a medium level (3/5).

Overall, the Davidoff Signature No. 1 Limited Edition Collection is a well-balanced and complex smoke. The body of the flavors is quite pronounced, and the evolution is well present, especially from the second to the last third.
