The Cohiba 55 Aniversario Edición Limitada 2021 is one of the three limited editions that have the 2021 second band on them (the other two are the Bolívar Regentes and the Hoyo de Monterrey Monterreyes No.4).
This Cohiba celebrates the 55° anniversary of the brand, and it is commercialized in varnished boîte nature boxes containing 10 cigars. Three are the bands: the first is the standard Cohiba, the second is the limited edition one, and the third, placed on the cigar’s foot, shows the 1966-2021 dates (1966 being the brand launch year).
The box of these cigars retailed for 3.000 Euros, but the prices increased quickly in the secondary market.
The cigars are rolled in an oily Colorado-shaded wrapper that is silky to the touch. Despite the high retail price, there were quite a few green spots on the wrapper of most of the cigars we tested. Despite the prestige of the brand, we didn’t expect to find this.

Cohiba 55 Aniversario Edición Limitada 2021: the cold draw reveals scents of red fruits and species, mainly white pepper. The first puffs are vegetal and intensely spicy, with a mix of white pepper and chili.
Overall, the Cohiba 55 Aniversario Edición Limitada 2021 boasts a broad flavor profile. The evolution is not very pronounced, but it is perceivable. It is an intense cigar, but it seems to need a little more time to settle down. It is probably going to perform better in a few years.
