Last week, the Habanos S.A. 23rd Festival del Habano took place. For those familiar with the Festival, Friday is the last day, and the famous Gala Dinner caps it off. As always, the event took place at the PABEXPO center. Aside from the music and show acts, the highlight of this evening is the traditional humidor auction.
The Humidors are unique one-ofs and highly sought-after items. The auction consisted of six slots, each dedicated to one of Habanos’ global brands (Cohiba, H. Upmann, Hoyo de Monterrey, Montecristo, Partagas, and Romeo y Julieta).
A record-breaking €11.22 Million was raised to benefit the Cuban health care system. The highest-selling lot was, with no surprise, the Cohiba Humidor, which sold for €4.2 Million. That is almost the same amount the last auction, held in 2020, garnered with seven lots.
Here is a breakdown of the six lots:
- Cohiba Humidor – €4.2 Million
- H. Upmann Humidor – €1.8 Million
- Hoyo de Monterrey Humidor – €980,000
- Montecristo Humidor – €440,000
- Partagas Humidor – €2.6 Million
- Romeo y Julieta Humidor – €1.2 Million
