Casa 1910 revealed their newest addition to the portfolio with the Soldadera Edition. As with all of the brand’s other lines, the Soldadera Edition is inspired by the Mexican Revolution.
The new line comprises three sizes named in homage to important female soldiers who contributed to the Mexican Revolution. The La Coronela is dedicated to Amelia Robles, who fought disguised as a man in Emiliano Zapata’s army. It features an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over a Brazilian Arapiraca binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Mexico. It measures 58 x 140mm (5 1/2″) and has a suggested retail price of $20 per cigar.
Sampetrina, a 50 x 127mm (5″) Robusto, is named in honor of Petra Herrera, who also fought disguised as a man, but for the forces led by Pancho Villa. The blend features a Connecticut wrapper over a Dominican binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Mexico. The suggested retail price is set at $16 per cigar.
Lastly, the Teniente Angela is a 52 x 152mm (6″) Toro named after a female Oaxaca soldier who fought with Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata. It uses a Habano wrapper over dual Mexican and Dominican binders and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The suggested retail price is set at $18 per cigar.
All three sizes are sold in either 10-ct boxes or 25-ct bundles and are manufactured at the Tabacalera La Isla in the Dominican Republic.
