The Quai d’Orsay Coronas Claro has been produced since 1974 when the brand was commercialized. It is also the only cigar still made since then, as all the other cigars have been phased out. The vitola de Galera is Corona, a size that has almost completely disappeared from Cuban production. In 2017, with the restyling of the brand image and the inclusion of new sizes, the band of the Coronas Claro conformed to the one already used in the latest releases. It is sold in 25-count Semi Boite Nature boxes.
Visually it is rolled in a Claro-colored wrapper with yellow reflections, even if it is not unusual to come across cigars with darker shades. To the touch, it is pretty smooth with not very marked veins. Overall, construction and filling are excellent.

Quai d’Orsay Coronas Claro: unlit, aromas of good intensity are perceived, bringing vegetal and woody sensations to mind.
The opening brings quite sapid smoke to the palate, while the aromas are expressed with fine wood and white pepper notes. Strength is medium-light (2/5).
In the central part, the sapidity remains unchanged while the evolution brings important notes of cocoa, less evident spicy aromas, and mineral nuances to the palate. Strength remains unchanged (2/5).
In the last third, the perception of the sapidity is enriched, slight bitter component appearing as well. Aromatically, the spicy notes remain on a very delicate background of earth and bark. Strength increases slightly (3/5).
In conclusion, Quai d’Orsay’s Coronas Claro is a cigar that returns an excellent smoke, aromatically stimulating and full of uncommon mixes. The relationship between aromas and strength is excellent, all to the benefit of the full aromatic interpretation of the first courses. A greater aromatic palette in the individual thirds would have allowed him a greater incisiveness on the smoker’s memory. It is perfect for a careful morning use, also thanks to a not exaggerated smoking time.
