The Luciano Fiat Lux is ACE Prime’s newest line, launched at last year’s PCA tradeshow. Fiat Lux is Latin for “let there be light”, a famous phrase from Genesis 1:3 of the Old Testament and is also a term that is often used in the journey of intellectual Enlightenment. The new line was blended by the co-founder of ACE Prime, Luciano Meirelles, and they are made at the Pichardo factory in Esteli, Nicaragua.
The cigar is rolled in a motley Colorado Maduro-colored wrapper. Filling is good and the construction is uniform. There are only a few very small veins present.

Luciano Fiat Lux Insight:Â the cold draw brings aromas of hay, wood, and spice to the palate. Once lit, the first few puffs are quite sapid, with nut, wood, and pepper notes.
Further into the first third, the wood and pepper are the dominant flavors, followed by earth and walnut. There is also a very distinct herbal note lingering in the back. Strength is medium-light (2/5).
The profile revolves mainly around pepper, wood, and walnut in the second third. Herbs are present in the background together with a barely hinted at creaminess. In a few puffs, the smoke is quite pungent on the palate. Strength remains constant.
Wood, walnut, and pepper, with the last one becoming spicier, especially in the retrohale, remain the core flavors in the final third. The herbal note is still perceptible in the background with the creaminess, like in the previous third, only appearing occasionally. Strength increases to a medium level (3/5).
Overall, the Luciano Fiat Lux Insight is a complex smoke with a very long finish. While the evolution is linear, the flavors are intense and balanced and remain present on the palate long after the smoke is exhaled.
