Rafael Gonzales Perla 1600 900 Giuseppe Mitolo

The Rafael Gonzales Perla was presented in 2012, expanding the brand’s portfolio, which, with this new addition, would have counted on three products. The Perla takes its name from the vitola de Galera of the same name.

It is sold in 25-count boxes and, for some years now, also in 50-count SLBs. Until 2017 a 5-count cardboard pack was also produced.

Visually the cigars are rolled in Colorado wrappers, but some boxes also have Colorado Maduro colored wrappers. To the touch, it is quite rustic with barely pronounced veins. The filling is uniform, and the construction is good.

Rafael Gonzales Perla: aromas of leather, black pepper, and wood are perceived in the cold draw.

Once lit, the smoke sapid but with an acid component. It expresses notes of earth and spices, enriched with citrus nuances. Strength is medium-full (4/5).

Halfway through the cigar, a slight bitterness, however pleasant, appears. An overbearing earthy note makes its way through, followed by less marked hints of earth and peanuts. Strength does not change (4/5).

In conclusion, the Rafael Gonzales Perla offers a simple but not trivial smoke. Full in flavor, with a sustained strength that is still balanced, without covering the profile. It is a short but full-bodied smoke, perfect for after a meal.
