PDR Cigars, which stood for Pinar del Rio (the famous tobacco province in Cuba), has changed its name to Puros Dominican Republic. The name change is to acknowledge the country in which the cigars are made. Alongside the name change, the company also has reblended and redesigned the El Criollito line.

El Criollito now has an updated packaging, and the new blend doesn’t use any Nicaraguan tobacco anymore. Instead, the blend is now made up of an Ecuadorian wrapper over a Mexican binder and filler tobacco from the Dominican Republic and Mexico.

The updated line will be showcased at next month’s PCA trade show in Las Vegas.
