The cigars are rolled in a Colorado Maduro shaded wrapper that is rustic to the touch. Construction is excellent, and the filling is uniform and generous. The cigar has two bands, one with the brand name and the second showing the line.

Micallef Grande Bold Mata Fina 650MF: earthy hints are revealed in the cold draw. The opening releases notes of leather and a veiled spiciness, where black pepper stands out. Hot spices are also perceptible.
The first third confirms the spicy notes and the leather, now enriched by earth. The flavor intensity is rather contained, and the strength stands at a medium level (3/5).
In the central section, the cigar changes pace, with the intensity increasing. The flavor profile confirms leather, earth, and black pepper, now joined by an intense vegetal aroma, in which balsamic herbs stand out. Strength grows, reaching a medium-full level (4/5).
The last third confirms the flavor profile without variations, which also goes for the strength (4/5) that stays under control even towards the end.
Overall, the Micallef Grande Bold Mata Fina 650MF releases a smoke that becomes decidedly more interesting in the second half, when the cigar releases a fuller flavor intensity. The evolution is rather linear, with a good balance among the aromas. Excellent construction. In all the cigars tested, the burn line was perfectly symmetrical throughout the smoke.
