SAGA Short Tales of High Priming 1600 900 Michel Arlia

The SAGA Short Tales series was introduced back in 2016, and the Tales of High Primings among the first vitolas to be launched. It is a collection of different blends and sizes. The packaging is what stands out the most, as the boxes look like actual books.

Saga Short Tales High Primings

SAGA Short Tales of High Primings: the cold draw bring an intense mix of wood and spices to the palate. Once lit, the cigar opens with a blast of spice, mainly black pepper.

Further into the first half, the black pepper aroma supports notes of roasted coffee beans and cedarwood. The strength is on the fuller side of the spectrum (4/5). The burn is quite wonky and needs to be touched up.

In the second half of the smoke, the range of flavors remains the same. The black pepper is now front and center of the profile. Strength remains medium-full (4/5) until the last puffs.

Overall, the SAGA Short Tales of High Primings delivers in terms of strength, which is also one of the issues that this cigar has. The strength tends to overpower the limited flavor profile. For how short the cigar is, the strength and contained profile might not be an issue for some, but adding the burn issues and the, therefore, resulting touch-ups to the smoking experience make this cigar more of a chore than anything else.
