Fonseca by My Father

Almost one year ago, My Father acquired the rights for the Fonseca brand in the US, and today, the new cigars are ready to be shipped. Before the acquisition, the cigars were made by Quesada, in the Dominican Republic. Now they are made in Nicaragua, with a completely different blend, exclusively made from tobaccos grown by the Garcia family (owner of My Father Cigars). The Original Fonseca Cigars were made in Cuba, where they are still produced nowadays by Habanos. The brand was founded back in 1892 and registered in 1907. The Cuban production and the My Father production, share the same use of tissue paper, that covers the whole cigar in the Cuban version, and most of the cigar in the Nicaraguan one.

Six are the sizes, all commercialized in boxes of 20 cigars:

  • Belicosos – 54 x 140 mm (5.5″), $10.60
  • Cosacos – 42 x 136 mm (5.37″). $7.75
  • Petit Corona – 40 x 108 mm (4.25), $7.00
