The Soneros brand is own by by Omar González-Alemán and his son Luis Omar. González family is better known for owning the La Corona factory in Nicaragua. The line itself is not new, originally debuting in 2013, but it was re-introduced with a new design back in 2018.
Soneros comes in to wrapper variations, a Habano Claro and a Habano Maduro. The blends details are not quite the same. The Habano Claro uses a Ecuador Habano Claro wrapper, over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Nicaragua and Peru, while the Habano Maduro uses an Ecuador Habano Maduro wrapper, over a Mexican binder and fillers from Nicaragua and the USA.
The wrapper is of a reddish and matte Maduro shaded color, that quite smooth to the touch. The cigar itself is box-pressed, with a closed foot.

Soneros Habano Maduro Toro: the cold draw reveals aromas of spices, wood and leather. Once lit, the cigar opens with a blast of black pepper, followed by leather and earth.
Further into the first third, the black pepper dominates and takes center stage, joined by leather and earth. Some nutty notes appear as well. Strength is medium (3/5).
The second third is a long continuation of the first third, except that a roasted coffee note is added to the profile. Strength remains constant.
The flavors carry over into the last third, with the addition of a dark chocolate note appearing towards the end. Strength has stayed the same throughout.
Overall, the Soneros Habano Maduro Toro has a very “dark” flavor profile, that is intense and complex, but not as strong expected. The evolution throughout the smoke is more of an addition of flavors in every third, than a change of flavors.
