Room 101’s Doomsayer is a cigar produced by Tabacalera William Ventura in two lines, the Habano and Maduro. Both come in a single Toro size. What differentiates the two lines is the wrapper. Ecuador Habano for the first and a Maduro for the second, of which the origin was not announced.

The Doomsayer Habano is characterized by a bright Colorado shaded wrapper. It is very smooth to the touch and the veins are also small. Filling and the overall workmanship are excellent, while the draw is regular.

The departure immediately reveals a sweet cigar, with a slight sapid nuance. Flavors of earth, bark and a less marked spicy note develope. Strength is medium – light (2/5).

In the central part, the aromas are reversed, as the sapidity dominates the sweetness in this third. Flavor-wise, the cigar brings a citrus note to the palate, next to the spices and bark. Strength increases slightly, becoming medium (3/5).

The main aroma, in this last third, is definitely sapid. The flavors do not particularl evolve. Alongside the notes of citrus and spices, a dried fruit note replaces the scent of bark that had characterized the smoke in the first two third. Strength remains medium (3/5).

Overall, the Room 101 The Doomsayer Habano is a very balanced product that offers a simple but enjoyable smoke. The complexity is not exaggerated as the flavors are easy to read. Good intensity and balance. The evolution, although quite limited, doesn’t make it a monotonous smoke. It is a product that is easy to enjoy.
