Aesthetically, the wrapper is of a shiny Colorado shade, that is smooth to the touch. The cigar is well made, with a perfect construction.
Oscar Valladares 2012 Corojo Robusto: the cold draw reveals notes of tobacco. Once lit, the first puff brings black pepper and wood to the palate.
The first third is creamy, with black pepper and wood up front. Coffee and hazelnut are present in the background. Strength is medium (3/5).
The second third sees cinnamon joins the wood, while the black pepper has vanished completely. Coffee is still present, but now it is followed by vanilla and vegetal notes. Strength is still medium (3/5).
In the last third, the black pepper reappears together with an earthy note. The wood has moved to the background. It becomes slightly bitter in the finale (3/5).
Overall, the Oscar Valladares 2012 Corojo Robusto is a well balanced cigar with an interesting flavor profile. The evolution is good, especially the change in the second third keeps you focused on the cigar.
