On October 4th, a new release will be debuted by Habanos S.A. in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. The San Cristobal de la Habana Prado is a Petit Piramides, 50 x 127 mm. It was announced in February during the Festival del Habano and the cigar will be packaged in 10 count boxes. Retail price is not yet known.

The shape is identical to the Partagás P1 (Petit Piramides, a Figurado size, with a tapered head) launched in 2010 and packaged in ceramic jars. In the past, it was also used for several Regional Editions. The San Cristobal brand was born in 1999 and is one of the few brands created after the Cuban revolution. The name is a clear reference to the history of Cuba and in particular to the period of Spanish domination, it is in fact what the city of Havana had in the sixteenth century. Prado refers to Paseo del Prado, which is one of the most famous and busiest streets in the Cuban capital and is also the dividing line between the center and the old city.

San Cristbal de la Habana Prado will be destined for the Habanos Specialist and the La Casa del Habano. The cigar was preceded by: San Cristobal de la Habana Torreon in 2012, H.Upmann Connoisseur A in 2013, Punch Punch 48 in 2016 and H.Upmann Connossieur B in 2017. The LCDH stores (La Casa del Habanos) are about 150 worldwide, while the Habanos Specialists are over 900 and, unlike the former, do not have to meet strict requirements. Their designation began in the 2011.

Despite the official announcement there are currently no further dates in other cities. Not always does the launch on a particular occasion like this mean that the cigar will be available in that market, or close to a full release. The event, on October 4th, will be held at Kaliman Caribe, exclusive distributor of Habanos S.A. in Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia, Armenia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Albania and Romania.
